Maine LighthousesPortland Head Light, commissioned by George Washington in 1791, is the oldest lighthouse in the state. It’s location in Fort Williams makes it a afternoon destination only 3 miles from Inn by the Sea and a great place for picnics, hiking and exploring the rocky coast of Casco Bay. Close by is Spring Point Ledge and the Portland Breakwater Light, also called Bug Light and host to the outdoor summer movie series on the lawn. Certainly not last or least, the world famous Two Lights is just down the street from our Oceanfront Resort.
With all the wonderful and historic attractions only minutes away, Inn by the Sea will surely add beauty and whimsy to your weddings, receptions, corporate events, and more!
Portland LighthousesMaine Open Lighthouse Day takes place throughout the state each September. Be sure to check with the Concierge about dates and locations when you book your stay with us.
